We now know more about the upcoming South Park RPG game developed by Obsidian. The game’s listing on xbox marketplace was updated today and now shows the improbable release date of today (!) but sadly it isn’t available now, therefore this part must be a mistake.
What we do know, and it should be true since we can see the boxart, is the name of the game, South Park The Stick of Truth. It will have an offline 2 player coop mode that sadly doesn’t seem to be playable online.
There are 5 screenshots to look at but they will give nothing more than a glimpse of how it will look like, the game mechanics do not seem to be presented in the images, nor is the gameplay, but we know from previous information over at Game Informer that it will be turned based combat much like Paper Mario.
The game will also feature 5 classes, 4 of them pretty standard RPG classes, namely Fighter, Mage, Thief and Cleric. And since this is South Park, and the game will have humor in it, the fifth class is the Jew! And obviously, playing the Jew class will trigger a LOT of abuse from Cartman!
Luckily, this first reveal will be followed by more information and a release date which will hopefully be soon!
